Lorenzo "Larry" Bordini, who emigrated from Italy at age 22, passed away on January 27, after succumbing to vascular dementia. He was 85 years old. Lorenzo grew up and was educated in Italy. After WWII he immigrated to the United States.

He met his wife Anna and they were married in 1956. They settled in Woburn in 1964 to raise their 3 children, Ernest, Jimmy and Lisetta. Lorenzo had an incredible work ethic. He wanted to succeed in America and to be able to offer his children the many opportunities and resources he lived without in Italy.

Mr. Bordini was a machinist.  He worked at Photon Inc. in Wilmington for 12 years, and then at GCA in Bedford for 38 years. He was extremely talented and specialized ineEnvironmental sciences and microelectronic technology. To help provide for his family and children’s education he also worked after hours and weekends as an independent contractor. He loved his work, it's challenges, and particularly enjoyed working with engineers involved in atmospheric testing prototype work.

He finally retired at the age of 75. Lorenzo was always busy working in his garden, on his grapevine, or perfecting his Bocce court. He most enjoyed time with family and his wife's great Italian cooking. He was proud of seeing his family grow and live the American dream.

Memorials in Lorenzo's name may be made to National Academy of Neuropsychology, c/o Bordini Grant Fund, 2121 N.W. 40th Terrace, Ste B, Gainesville, FL 32605. For online guest book see http://www.sullivanfuneralhome.net.
